When VMRG started, we had no building, but needed a place to store or “cache” our equipment, very different from its meaning in the computer age. Our first was a closet at the hospital. Later, we moved to a garage bay at the ambulance district in Edwards, then to a small 1-½ bay garage at the same site. Our new “Cache” was built by the Eagle County Paramedic Services in 2012 and leased to the Eagle County Sheriff for $1 per year for VMRG’s use. This five bay facility houses our vehicle and equipment, a classroom, our command post, and a climbing wall for training.
