Friends of Mountain Rescue (FMR) is the fund raising and fund management arm of Vail Mountain Rescue Group (VMRG).
Our Mission
Vail Mountain Rescue Group exists to provide back country search and rescue, as well as public education on back country safety, in Eagle County, Colorado.
The team is responsible for all search and rescue operations in the unincorporated areas of the County. We work under the jurisdiction and with the authority of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
The Group is nationally certified through the Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) and an active member of the Colorado Search and Rescue Association (CSRA) responding to calls for mutual aid throughout Colorado.
